Master Arts Theatre: Summer 2026 Internship
Master Arts Theatre, a community theater in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is now accepting applications for its unpaid Summer 2026 Internship. This internship offers a variety of opportunities in youth and adult theater programming, all from a Christian worldview.
As a summer intern, you’ll have the chance to be involved in many areas, including:
- The Summer Show, Things We Couldn’t Say (May 29 – June 6, 2026).
- Three youth programs:
- Camp Dragon: The Reluctant Dragon (January – June)
- Monday and/or Tuesday evenings from Jan 19 to Jun 2
- Performances: Thurs – Sat, June 18 – 20
- Camp Never Nod: The Spell of Sleeping Beauty (April – July)
- Tuesday nights, beginning April 21, 5 pm to 7 pm to June 30
- and/or Camp Week – Mon thru Fri, July 6 – 10, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
- Performances July 16 – 18, 2:00 and 7:30 all three days
- Camp Secret Agent: Get Smart (May – August)
- Monday nights beginning May 11, 5 pm to 7 pm to July 20
- and/or Camp Week – Mon thru Fri, July 27 to 31, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
- Performances Aug 6 – 8, 2:00 and 7:30 all three days
- Camp Dragon: The Reluctant Dragon (January – June)
- Preparations for the 2026-2027 season opener.
Your role will depend on your interest and experience, with opportunities in teaching, directing, and technical areas such as set construction, costumes, lighting, sound, and makeup. There are also opportunities to assist with general office tasks like answering phones and managing mailings.
Requirements:
- A theater background is required.
- You must be willing to work hard, including some late hours.
- You must be able to work with both youth and adults.
Though the internship is technically unpaid, some compensation will be provided.
