See Rock City by Arlene Hutton is set in 1940s Kentucky following World War II. The play centers on May and Raleigh, a young couple navigating the challenges of postwar life. Raleigh, unable to serve due to a medical condition, grapples with feelings of inadequacy while May shoulders the financial burden as a teacher. As they face societal pressures, family criticism, and a personal tragedy, May and Raleigh must find ways to communicate, overcome hardship, and redefine their roles within their marriage.
